About

The PROJECT I AM WHO I AM FOUNDATION, INC. (Foundation, for brevity) started serving “the last, the least, the littlest, and the lost,” in 2012. It was organized out of a common desire to serve humanity; after all—the founders believe, it is better to serve than to be served.

Originally, it was named I AM WHO I AM FOUNDATION, INC. It was incorporated as a non-stock, non-profit organization, and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), having its principal address in Lavezares, Northern Samar, where it was originally founded.

It has conducted numerous medical missions nationwide, serving thousands upon thousands of needy and impoverished people, and extending various medical services—surgery, dental, internal medicine, pedia, OB-Gyne, optha, PT, ECG, laboratory services, and many more.

It has pooled together like-minded medical practitioners and volunteers, and criss-crossed the entire archipelago—from quiet Malabrigo to troubled Marawi. We’ve served patients in the islands of Capul, Biri, Daram, and Zummaraga in Samar, trekked to Quirino, Ilocos Sur, as well as to Bataan; we motored to Bicol, Batangas, and Nueva Ecija, even as we dared precarious places as southern Palawan and strife-torn Mindanao; we served isolated Lapinig, and mountainous Negros, just as we served in Butuan, GenSan, and Catarman.

Yes, I AM WHO I AM FOUNDATION, INC. has visited bustling urban centers, just as we hied off to rustic barangays. Our MEDICSpedition (Medics on Expedition), a medical mission relentlessly pursued in areas where the Lord wills them to be—in quiet places or troubled cities, in the lowlands as well as highlands, we crossed rivers, lakes, and seas “to serve the purpose of the Maker.”

As the Foundation embarks on its parallel health program—the MediScene, an indie film outfit organized to produce films that are impressed with health-related issues and advocacy, the I AM WHO I AM FOUNDATION, INC. Board of Directors—after seven (7) years of relentless conducting medical missions, decided to lay emphasis on its parallel program by renaming it to PROJECT I AM WHO I AM FOUNDATION, INC. and register the same under a new name and secure a new entity, in order to spare the new outfit from the trouble of reconstituting lost records of the I AM WHO I AM FOUNDATION, INC.

Thus, PROJECT I AM WHO I AM FOUNDATION, INC., is what it shall be known today. It is registered with the SEC, with Registration No. CN201953151.

Mission

To serve the last, the least, the littlest, and the lost in our midst.

Vision

A fairer world even for the poor, the deprived, and the voiceless.

MEDICSpedition

Sharing God’s love through serving the last, the least the littlest, and the lost in His perfect time and His marvelous ways.

MEDICSpedition, composed of service-driven physicians, consultants, surgeons, dentists, opthalmologist, pathologist, nurses, medtechs, attorneys and volunteer individuals who leave their high-paid works and comfortable houses to deliver free health services to the underserved communities in the Philippines.

The medical missionary team started in April 2013 at a small barrio of Cogomao-as, Brgy Libas, Lavezares, Northern Samar where the purpose was to escape from the heat of Manila’s tropic sun but ending up pulling their stethoscopes as they saw the health condition of the people and dispensing some medicines to them. Then God inspired them to start a medical mission in the said place and soon invitation for medical mission keep coming up one after another in different places around the Philippines.

And that gave birth to what is now the MEDICSpedition (medics on expedition). It used to be under the aegis of I AM WHO I AM (IAWIA) Foundation Incorporated, until the team decided lately to allow the MEDICSpedition to have a life of its own. Totally placed under God’s design, it is now what it is because of His Guidance.

By God’s grace, MEDICSpedition had served thousands of people longing for medical care in farmost islands and poorest barrios all over the Philippines for over 5 years and still continue to provide free medical, surgical, dental, laboratory and other axillary services to heal the sick and the lost. And at this moment, the team continue to promote:

Missionary, Emotional quotient vs IQ, Discipline, Inspiration, Complain not amidst difficult circumstances, Service above self, Prayer, Exploring underserved communities, Delivering health services, Innovation, Temperance, Integrity, Optimism and Noble work

That are all summed up in the name MEDICSpedition and further reflected on the Bible passage Zechariah 4:6:

Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit’ says the Lord Almighty.

Join and support us in our mission to uplift Christ to the sick and the lost through providing free health services and preventive healthcare in the underseved communities in our country.

A new project of the PIAWIAFI is MediScene, a mainstream-indie film production showcasing public health awareness. The project is headed by Dr. Kent Ley Troy C. Cuyco, PIAWIAFI’s Director for Public Health Awareness Programs and President of TEC Health Medical Clinic and Diagnostic Center.

Currently, MediScene is producing a full-length film with working title “My Letters to Happy.” The objective of the said film is to create and open a conversation about mental health in the Philippines – to help address the issue, spread awareness, increase support and give hope. The film will be released, nationwide, between the months of June and July 2019.
